1oz Marvel Thor
This is a brand new silver bullion coin, limited in mintage to just 50,000 pieces. Each coin contains 1oz of silver, struck to 999.9 purity by the world renowned Perth Mint. This is an official Marvel comics product, manufactured on behalf of the tiny Polynesian island of Tuvalu. The Thor silver 1oz coin is the second in a series of siz coins celebrating Marvel super heroes. It follows the success of the Spiderman coin and joins the Black Panther coin. Coin design
The obverse of the Thor silver coin features the 4th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, created by Ian Rank-Broadley. UK coins feature the older looking 5th portrait by designer Jody Clark, so these coins represent a chance to enjoy some nostalic imagery. The portrait stands out from the background’s matt finish with it’s highly polished look. The coin front is completed with writing around the edge, confirming the monarch, country of issue, face value of 1 Tuvalu Dollar, metal, weight, purity and finally year of issue.
Coin reverse
The reverse of the coin is the main attraction with the depiction of super-strong Thor which remains faithful to the Marvel comic book representation rather than film versions. Adorning full armour and wielding his powerful mallet, The Thor figure stands out from the coin. Both the Thor and Marvel logos are featured on this side, along with the copyright mark confirming the official authorised product status of the coin.
